In today’s modern church world, TASKFORCES are replacing STANDING COMMITTEES. Under the current RHBC form of governance, the Administrative Board will be responsible for handling common Standing Committee situations.
 
A TASKFORCE may be initiated to carry out a specific task at the discretion of the Senior Pastor and/or the Administrative Board, as deemed necessary. 
 
Reasons for this change include efficiency, more thorough planning, rapid mobilization, and expeditious implementation.
 
STANDING COMMITTEES are often chosen for lengthy terms of service and assigned to function within the boundaries and confinements previously established for said committee, meeting together at a pre-determined, regularly scheduled time and date. When called upon to handle issues, problems, and situations out of their normal meeting frame, they are often hindered by the necessity of calling all committee members together.
 
TASKFORCE members are chosen at the time of need to carry out a specified purpose, within specific goals and perimeters, and within a given timeframe.
 
Whereas STANDING COMMITTEE members may or may not be qualified to handle every situation encountered, TASKFORCE members are handpicked for each specific situation or need based upon their knowledge, experience, and willingness to engage as a team-member in the specified task.
